Jarrah

Jarrah is a dark, durable wood species. It is 25% harder than Oak. Jarrah has a smooth surface and straight grain. The heartwood is reddish in colour. As a floor, Jarrah is dark brown, becoming darker over the years. Jarrah is used for outdoor furniture, musical instruments and boats.

Family: Myrtle (Lat. Myrtaceae)
Size: Jarrah can grow to 40-50 m in size. The trunk can grow to around 9 m in circumference.
