Hardness

Select the right floor for the right area

Different wood species naturally have different degrees of hardness. For rooms exposed to a great deal of wear and tear, such as kitchens and hallways, it is wise to choose one of the harder wood species. Below you will find some other useful information to help in your choice of wood floor.

We want your Kährs floor to remain beautiful for many years. This is why we only produce floors in the harder wood species. The only exception is Birch, a medium-hard species that can look beautiful in a living room or bedroom but is less suitable in areas exposed to a lot of wear and tear, such as kitchens. The table compares the hardness of different wood species.
