Kährs introduces all-compliant Activity range in FSC mix

Kährs has introduced its new range of FSC-mix ‘all-in-one’ Activity floors. Featuring integral shock-absorption and reinforcement properties, the Activity Range complies with both DIN and new EN Standards and can be laid directly onto a subfloor, eliminating the need for additional battens and fittings. Meanwhile, Kährs glueless Woodloc® joint gives strength, perfect joints between boards and enables the floor to be laid 50% more quickly than an ordinary sports floor; it can also be easily removed for relaying elsewhere, if required.

Available in Beech, Oak and Maple, Kährs Activity Floor is just 30mm thick, giving a very low construction height. Each board provides overlapping pressure distribution, with HDF board across joints on both long and short sides, whilst resilient expanded foam absorbs energy and eliminates springing. The floor also has a durable satin lacquer pre-finish, applied during manufacture, which provides easy maintenance; the surface can be vacuumed and cleaned with a well-wrung mop/cloth as necessary.

Kährs Activity Floor measures 2423mm x 200mm and has a 3.6mm wear layer that can be sanded 3-4 times. It exceeds all categories of DIN testing carried out by the Norwegian Building Research Institute, including energy absorption, deformation, ball bounce, rolling load and friction, and also complies to new EN Standards. It has been chosen by the FISAF as the official floor for the World & European Aerobics Championships through to 2011 and used in numerous UK sports installations, including the new 1100 m2 Valley Leisure Centre in County Antrim.
