Kährs and Upofloor Merging Brands

n 2012, as part of a mission to offer "floors beyond expectations", Kährs Group acquired Upofloor, an industry pioneer in resilient flooring. Upofloor is now being brought fully under the Kährs brand, and moving forward, the Upofloor resilient products will be Kährs branded and become part of the Kährs product offering. While the Upofloor brand name is changing, the products will remain the same: high-performing, extremely durable, aesthetically bold and with excellent sustainability properties.

The high compatibility of the Kährs and Upofloor brands is set by both being well-respected pioneers within the flooring industry. Since the 1950s, Upofloor has been a revolutionary leader in the commercial flooring industry and has since 2000 led the industry as a pioneer within PVC-free flooring. As one of the oldest wood flooring manufacturers in the world, Kährs holds prestige as the inventor of the first engineered hardwood floor as well as being first with the glueless locking system on wood flooring. With these brands joining forces, Kährs will be the one-stop-shop for sustainable, high-quality, premium design flooring for residential and commercial spaces.

“The merger of the Kährs and Upofloor brands is perfectly in line with the strategy to broaden Kährs’ product portfolio of high quality and sustainable flooring. This is yet another step towards offering functional and safe flooring for commercial applications such as healthcare and education”, says Andreas Berge, Chief Commercial Officer, Commercial sales at Kährs.

Kährs flooring portfolio ranges from Wood to Luxury Tiles and Resilient flooring. Kährs has been driven by innovation and sustainability since 1857, and customers can continue to expect outstanding quality, design, and an environmentally conscious offering from the entire Kährs family of products.
