The Beyond Retro collection is celebrating a milestone in the parquet history. It is amazingly 80 years since Kährs was awarded the patent for the engineered lamella parquet flooring, an innovation that revolutionized the parquet flooring industry. 

With the Beyond Retro collection, we wanted as a true design-oriented company, to create a high design collection celebrating the combination of classical and modern elements while incorporating a sense of authenticity, warmth, and modernity. The retro design style is not tied to a fixed principle, allowing us to freely create and combine.

BEYOND RETRO CONNECTED TO THE FLOORING TRENDS 2023

The influences in interior design 2023 and how will it affect flooring trends in the next few years are all tied together. Beyond Retro highlights some of the insight’s Kährs' design manager Petra Lundblad has scouted and identified as strong macro-trends:

The Awareness trend is characterized by clean and simple design, adding natural elements to the interior and working with colors that gravitate towards mild earthy and beige. As for the Honest trend, it is based on naturally earthy colors and patterns. Instead of beige as the dominant color, darker shades of brown, terracotta and musty forest colors now come to the forefront.

The Beyond Retro collection ties into both these trends as it offers a full range of soft muted colors. Based on natural colors Kährs have developed six unique stains all with a warm, deep, silky, velvet and ultra-matt expression.
