In 2023, we made promising progress in many sustainability areas, including our use of renewable energy, reducing the carbon footprint of our own operations, exploring solutions for circularity, and in our supplier risk assessments and engagement.
We also measured and analyzed more data and metrics than ever before to better capture our sustainability impact. At the same time, our results from 2023 have helped us to identify where we have the biggest obstacles to overcome; our choice of raw materials, transportation routes and emissions, the impact of the products we source externally, and where our products end up after use.
Our operational climate footprint has decreased by 77%, compared to our 2020 baseline, and we continue to strive toward decreasing our footprint each year, through an ambitious and aligned low-carbon transition plan, until we reach our net-zero target in the whole value chain by 2040 (scope 1 and 2 by 2030).
During 2023 we have also focused heavily on new reporting standards, identified gaps for prioritisation, and, most importantly, worked collaboratively throughout the company – because Sustainability is everybody's business.
