Sustainability at its core

Take a bold step to reduce your carbon footprint with Aware as cork and wood are key ingredients in the Aware collection. Cork and wood are 100% natural CO2 retainers and binds carbon dioxide. In addition, the cork material is made from recycled wine cork production.

The floor is easy to install as it is to uninstall with the click joint on both the short and long side for a 2-way installation. Making it a quick, easy, and clean installation.

The Aware collection is designed for family-life or the , wear and tear of any commercial application, while still giving you the style and beauty of a wood floor with a classification of 33, suitable for commercial applications such as stores and restaurants. Healthy indoor air quality

1. Wear resistant Layer 

The top layer is a wear and tear layer, and the Aware Collection has an ultra matt surface with wood grain embossing. This innovative protection and finishing layer gives an excellent scratch resistance and seals the surface against stains, chemicals and dirt. In addition, it is durable, enabling a long lifetime in both homes and public premises. 

This layer enables use of Aware in spaces requiring usage class 33 making it a very suitable product for Shops, Hotels, Restaurants and Cafés on top of Residential applications. 

2. Design Layer 

The design layer is the fun layer where the wood design is printed which sets the impression of each floor. We print directly on the plank to give it a wood feeling with knots and grains in-line with Kährs design etiquette. There are 15 uniquely patterned boards in each colour design to ensure a natural feel and low rate of repetition of patterns. 

3. Comfort Layer 

The comfort layer in this product is partly what makes this product unique. It has elastic attributes to ensure a pleasant walking feel, high comfort, and a warm feeling. It reduces walking sound in rooms significantly and adds to the product’s excellent acoustic properties. This layer makes the Aware collection up to 40% more silent than a typical floor.  

4. High Durability Layer 

This layer gives the floor durability attributes with a high quality HDF partly made from old scrap wood. The layer gives good strength to joints and keeps the floor stabile. 

The high quality HDF also allows you to install this floor around fireplaces, by big windows and in combination with floor heating since it provides a climate stability in the floor and does not react to changes in temperature. 

5. Cork Backing 

With a cork backing this floor requires no extra foam underlay. The backside of the plank is made of recycled wine corks. This gives Aware good sound reducing properties as it dampens vibrations, increases walking comfort, and helps to even out small deviations on the subfloor. Cork is a natural CO2 retainer.
